I was invited through the Burbank Art Association and the Burbank Town Mall to the Mall Terrace last Friday to sell art while they had live music and dancing. Here I am painting the view.
Last weekend I painted with the Weekend Warrior Painters at the annual “BoldPas” event in Pasadena, California. Old Town Pasadena hosted many art events, exhibits, and interactive art installations (fit for selfies etc.) I painted en Plein air along where the installations were on Big Bang Theory Way (an alley in Pasadena named after the show) The view I painted is looking across – I think- Colorado Blvd at the Beanery. I cleaned up the painting this week to sharpen it and here is the result.
This is the painting I did live at the Burbank Cultural Arts Commission booth at the fair. It was a busy day – after I did most of the painting at noon, I returned to my car and took my paintings to the Burbank Art Association ‘booth’ at the mall to sell art. I sold three pieces this weekend. Thank you to all who gave me the opportunity to be there!
The weather is sunny and warm today, between rainy days, so come out and see the Art Festival today in Burbank, California!
The Burbank Art Association has art set up on a panels at the mall dining terrace, including my art. There will be face painting and music all day, too.
I always feel that I am a traveller, going somewhere and to some destination. If I tell myself that the somewhere and the destination do not exist, that seems to me very likely and reasonable enough … So at the end of the course I shall find my mistake. Be it so. I shall find then that not only the Arts, but everything else as well, were only dreams, that one’s self was nothing at all.

Yesterday I was in “Beautiful Downtown Burbank” again painting. I’m not sure what exactly draws me to paint these city streets – is it the shapes of the buildings, the colors of the facades, the lines of the road and walkways, or all the above? This was painted in front of the “Urban Press Winery” looking across at the “Tender Greens” store. I have quite a collection of cityscapes, I imagine they would look good hanging in a local restaurant.
